Bill Lee is a businessman and a farmer from Middle Tennessee and a Republican candidate for governor. Raised on the farm where he still lives today, he received his bachelor’s in mechanical engineering in 1981 and started with Lee Company, the family business his grandfather started in 1944. After holding several roles in the business, he became president of the company in 1992. Under his leadership, Lee Company has grown to employ more than 1,200 people with annual revenues in excess of $220 million. Mr. Lee is also active in Triple L Ranch, his family’s cattle farm which provides natural beef to farmer’s markets and farm-to-table restaurants throughout Middle Tennessee. In the community, Mr. Lee has served as the president of Tennesseans for Economic Growth, the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, and the Associated Builders and Contractors. He also previously served as the Seventh Congressional District’s representative to the Tennessee Higher Education Commission. He has served on the board of a number of faith-based non-profit groups, and he and his wife Maria are active members in their church in Franklin, Grace Chapel Church. He has four children, and five grandchildren.
