Nashville Public Library presents a screening of Stanley Nelson’s newest documentary, “We Are Rising,” which documents the history of historically black colleges and universities in the United States.

The event begins at 2:30 p.m. and includes giveaways, food and prizes. Guests will preview the film, hear spoken word, and enjoy the HBCU fraternity and sorority tradition of “strollin’ and steppin’.”

HBCU alumni are invited to wear school gear and fill the auditorium with the distinct flair of HBCU school spirit.
