Join us for an after hours family experience open to learners of all ages. We’ll learn about life during WW I, make commemorative poppies, roll bandages with the “Ladies Aide Society” and meet soldiers at our own “Camp Jackson,” the training camp located on the original Belle Meade Plantation property where Tennessee soldiers prepared for the war front in Europe during the early months of WW I. Tickets for ages 4+ $10. Check-in 4:00 p.m. — 6:15 p.m.
About Hands on History at Belle Meade Plantation
This quarterly program shares parts of our history with young audiences and their families through engaging “hands-on” activities geared toward preschool and elementary age community members. Hands on History happenings take place “after hours” and invite families to visit activity stations around the grounds of Belle Meade Plantation. Each event focuses on a particular theme or point in history and welcomes families to bring picnics to be enjoyed between stations.
