A cesarean doesn't have to feel like a failure. Some babies need a cesarean to be born safely. Even if a cesarean is necessary, there are still options! This month we will discuss having a contingency plan for your birth and negotiating for an empowered cesarean with doula Andrea Hewitt and mother Cassia Bennett. Do you wonder what to include in a cesarean birth plan? Did you plan a scheduled cesarean and are you willing to share your experience? Are you a doula who wants more info on supporting women in this situation? Come join us to ask your questions, get some insight, and support the mothers in our community!
What to Bring: As always, ICANoN's monthly meetings are FREE, but please bring a roll of toilet paper, tissues or paper towels to donate to Blooma Nashville Yoga for letting us use their beautiful office space.
Who Should Come: Anyone interested in healthy pregnancy, birth, and recovery is welcome to attend, including doulas (obviously!) and other birth professionals. **While childcare is not provided, children with quiet toys and babes-in-arms are welcome.**
ICAN of Nashville holds free monthly educational and support meetings for the community. The International Cesarean Awareness Network, Inc. is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve maternal-child health by preventing unnecessary cesareans through education, providing support for cesarean recovery, and promoting Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC).
