The First 50 Days of the Trump Administration: Foreign Policy and International Law panel features Vanderbilt Law Professors Ingrid Wuerth and Michael Newton, with Professor Colin Kahl of Georgetown University's Walsh School of Foreign Service. Vanderbilt Law Professor Ganesh Sitaraman will serve as moderator.
This panel of experts on foreign policy and international law will discuss the first fifty days of the Trump Administration. Speakers will address President Trump's strategic objectives; relations with NATO, China, Israel, and Russia; and international legal issues such as the Iran-Nuclear Deal, the Paris Climate Accords, and the United Nations.
Professor Colin Kahl is an associate professor in the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University. He served as the Deputy Assistant to the President and National Security Advisor to the Vice President from October 2014 to January 2017. As the Deputy Assistant and Natural Security Advisor, Professor Kahl served as the senior advisor to President Obama and Vice President Biden on all matters related to U.S. foreign policy and natural security affairs. He also represented the Office of the Vice President as a standing member of the National Security Council Deputies' Committee.
